2019 Black History Month Virtual Exhibit

The 2019 Black History Month exhibit was originally presented as daily publications on Facebook during the Month of February 2019. The exhibit was sponsored by Bluegrass Black Pride, Inc., a community lgbtq*, grassroots organization in Lexington, KY. Reinette F. Jones created the publications; she is a librarian at the University of Kentucky Special Collections Research Center, and she is co-chair of Bluegrass Black Pride, Inc. Each publication in the exhibit is an expression of the 2019 Black History Month theme of “Black Migration,” and combined with the history of African Americans and Kentucky. The Association for the Study of African American Life and History announces the themes for each year.
