Description
Bud Benson was one of the hundreds of African Americans recruited from Alabama to work in the eastern Kentucky coal mines. He was also a baseball player and manager of the coal company's colored baseball team. The Lynch Grays were the best colored baseball team in Kentucky in 1935.
