Madi Wilson, Co-President

Madi Wilson is currently a senior at the University of Kentucky majoring in Human Health Sciences on a pre-PA track. Wilson plans to pursue a career in pediatric endocrinology after completing a master's in physician assistant studies. Wilson is an undergraduate research assistant at the Hannon Lab through the UKHC OB/GYN department. She is currently a member of the UK Women in Pre-PA Club, Student Health Advisory Council, and SnowCats..

Diksha Satish, Co-President

Diksha Satish is an Honors Senior student at the University of Kentucky majoring in Biology and Mathematics and plans to pursue graduate school. Outside of KUJHH, Satish is a Producer for the OUR Podcast, a Gaines Fellow, and a Research Ambassador for the Office of Undergraduate Research. Additionally, she is involved in research at a physiology laboratory studying the genetic risk factors of Alzheimer's disease.

Aliyyah Sadek, Secretary

Aliyyah Sadek is the secretary of KUJHH. She is a junior at the University of Kentucky majoring in Political Science with a minor in Arabic and Islamic Studies. Sadek is the Director of Inclusion and Equity in the University of Kentucky's Student Government Association (SGA), the President of the BLUE Law Society, and the Secretary of Pi Sigma Alpha. She has also received the honor of being admitted to UK Blue, an accelerated degree program for outstanding pre-law undergraduates who plan to pursue their JD at UK's law school.

Dr. Caroline Buchanan, Faculty Sponsor

Dr. Buchanan earned a Ph.D. in Philosophy from the University of Kentucky in 2017. She has been an Assistant Professor in the UK Program for Bioethics since 2019. Dr. Buchanan serves as an HEC-C certified ethics consultant throughout the UK Healthcare Enterprise, providing guidance for specific patient cases as well as support for units with systemic patient care concerns. In addition, Dr. Buchanan leads the Program for Bioethics Scholarly Concentration in Bioethics, an educational track for UK College of Medicine students, and teaches a variety of philosophy and honors courses to UK undergraduates. She serves on the Hospital Ethics Committee, where she has authored several UK Healthcare policies, including work on the COVID-19 pandemic and incarcerated patients. Her areas of focus include parental authority in pediatric decision-making and medical decision-making for vulnerable populations. Buchanan is also a faculty reviewer for KUJHH.

Dr. Sharlee Burch , RDH, BSDH, MPH, EdS, EdD, Clinical Leadership and Management

Dr. Sharlee Burch holds academic degrees in the fields of Dental Hygiene, Public Health and Education. She has been working in higher education, healthcare, non-profit administration, oral health research, and community-based public health practice for over two decades. She has been affiliated with the University of Kentucky Colleges of Dentistry, Public Health and Agriculture and her research projects have included statewide oral health surveillance, Appalachian and rural health disparities, maternal and child health literacy, tobacco education and programming, and oral health professionals' response to drug endangered children. Dr. Burch is an instructional expert in the areas of online teaching, curriculum effectiveness, faculty engagement, student success, and service-learning pedagogy. She is also a Past President of the American Dental Hygienists' Association. Dr. Burch is currently a Lecturer in the Clinical Leadership and Management Program in the Department of Health & Clinical Sciences at the University of Kentucky College of Health Sciences.
