Description

After WWII, De Gasperi would become the Prime Minister, where he would be responsible for reconstruction of his country’s democracy and economy. A strong advocate for European cooperation, he served as a mediator between Germany and France, and he also supported the idea of the European Economic Community. While he would not live to see its creation, he is ultimately known for his vision for a united Europe.
