Harry Ignatius Stegmaier, Sr. (March 26, 1909 - September 16, 1991) was born in Cumberland, Maryland to George Ignatius Stegmaier and Mary Kelly. Stegmaier graduated from Potomac State College in 1932. He returned to Cumberland to practice law after receiving his LL.B.. Stegmaier married Frances Birmingham in 1941.
