Oliver Cromwell Van Camp (January 5, 1884 - April 14, 1951) was born in Sisterville, West Virginia to William Van Camp and Sarah Williams. Van Camp received a B.S. degree from Valparaiso University in 1915 and an A.M. degree from the University of Chicago in 1920. He worked as a high school teacher and principal in West Virginia before attending the University of Kentucky. Van Camp practiced law in West Virginia. He married Sally Maynard in 1908.
