Henry Creston Smith (March 25, 1907 - July 10, 1990) was born in Ekron, Kentucky to James Smith and Minnie Ritchie. Smith first practiced law in Lexington. He later served as a trial attorney for the Kentucky Department of Highways. Smith then worked for the United States Department of Agriculture as the Chief Deputy Administrator for Farmers Home Administration. He married twice-- his wives were Kathleen Janet Hagerman (m. 1935, w. 1971) and Kathleen Walter Curry (m. after 1971).
