George Orson Eldred (September 14, 1904 - September 26, 1989) was born in Princeton, Kentucky to Dique Eldred and Evelyn Polk. Eldred received a B.A. from Vanderbilt University in 1927. After receiving his LL.B. from the University of Kentucky, he practiced law in Princeton for over 50 years. Eldred also served terms as Caldwell County Attorney. He served in the United States Army during World War II. Eldred assisted in the creation of the Adsmore Museum, a historic house in Princeton which was left to the local library in the will of one of Eldred's clients. He married Olive Seaton in 1943.
