James Earl Walker, Sr. (July 23, 1903 - May 7, 1990) was born in Oak Ridge, Louisiana to Lawrence Walker and Mittie Kennedy. He practiced law in Paintsville, Kentucky. He later worked in Louisville as a claims adjuster for the Michigan Mutual Liability Company. Walker served as a director of the Kentucky State Golf Association and was a Kentucky State Seniors Gold Champion. He married twice--his wives were Lillian Howes (m. 1929, w. 1942) and Mary Van Hoose (m. 1945).
