Broadus Edward Hickerson (May 3, 1895 - January 6, 1964) was born in Washington County, Kentucky to Ralph Hickerson and Sarah Elizabeth Adams. Hickerson was on the University of Kentucky football team for four years while a student in the late 1910s before withdrawing from University to serve in World War I. Hickerson worked as a high school teacher, a coach, and a principal. He also worked for several years with the Internal Revenue Service's Alcohol Tax Division. Hickerson served three terms in the Kentucky General Assembly as a Senator for the 14th District beginning with the 1958 Regular Session. He married Tressa Stanfield.
