Gordon Bennett Finley, Sr. (July 26, 1908 - March 29, 1990) was born in Madisonville, Kentucky to Thomas Eldreth Finley and Ella Campbell. Finley worked in Louisville as an attorney and claims adjuster for Travelers Insurance Co.. He served in the United States Army during World War II and was a lieutenant in the Army Reserve. Finley married Pauline Townes in 1939. His brother, James Campbell Finley (UK Law '30), was also a graduate of the University of Kentucky College of Law.
