James Coleman Lyne (August 7, 1908 - November 4, 1976) was born in Logan County, Kentucky to Coleman Sanford Lyne, Jr. and Myrtle Thomasson. Lyne practiced law in Russellville. He served as city attorney between 1943 and 1948 and as county attorney from 1948 to 1957. Lyne was appointed the Commonwealth Attorney for the Seventh Judicial District in 1962 and was re-elected to that position three additional times. He also served as president of Russellville's First Savings & Loan and served several terms as president of Russellville Country Club. Lyne married twice--his wives were Lucy Locke (m. 1936, d. pre-1961) and Lucille Nunn (m. 1961).
