Rufus Lisle, LL.B.

Rufus Lisle (May 19, 1909 - February 19, 1997) was born in Lexington, Kentucky to Hampton Lisle and Mary Stoll. Lisle spent much of his childhood in New Mexico. He received a bachelor's degree from the University of New Mexico before attending the University of Kentucky. Lisle was a founding partner in the Lexington law firm of Harbison, Kessinger, Lisle & Bush. He was later associated with Stites & Harbison. In the early 1970s, he was a member of the commission that worked to merge the Lexington and Fayette County governments. Lisle was one of the first attorneys to be inducted into the Fayette County Bar Association Hall of Fame. He married Margaret Legrand Smith on November 27, 1937.
