Gayle Alexander Mohney, A.B. '28, LL.B. '31
Gayle Alexander Mohney (June 3, 1906 - July 25, 1980) was born in Somerset, Kentucky to Harry Addison Mohney and Lola Brown. Mohney practiced law in Lexington. He focused on equine law and was a senior member of Stoll, Keenon and Park. Mohney was active in the development of Keeneland and served as counsel for the Keeneland Foundation. Additionally, he held several business interests in Lexington--he was a director of the First National Bank and Trust Co. and was a director of the Lexington Herald-Leader. Mohney married Ruth Shelton in 1929. He died of a heart attack while on a fishing trip in Iceland.
