Bart Nixon Peak (January 16, 1894 - February 27, 1981) was born in Bedford, Kentucky to George Peak and Mary Alice Bartlett. Peak received a Bachelor's of Arts degree in History from the University of Kentucky in 1917. Peak began working as the secretary of the University of Kentucky Y.M.C.A. in 1920. He served as a judge in Fayette County between 1958 and 1966. Additionally, Peak served three terms as a representative in the Kentucky General Assembly (1952-1954 49th District, 1970-1972 54th District, 1972-1974 76th District). He was elected to the Urban County Council in 1973 and served two years in that capacity. Peak married Lavinia McDanell in 1918.
