Charles Spurgeon Matherly (July 23, 1984 - March 21, 1989) was born in Mercer County, Kentucky to William Coleman Matherly and Martha Jane Watts. Matherly practiced law in Harrodsburg. He served one term in the Kentucky General Assembly's House of Representatives. He married Jesta Bell Armstrong.
