Alfred Griggs Powell (May 31, 1903 - June 24, 1988) was born in Stanford, Kentucky to Charles Epperson Powell and Minnie Thompson. Powell worked in insurance sales after graduation. He was a partner in Powell Walton and Milward Insurance Agency, based in Lexington, Kentucky. Powell married Caroline Rounsavall in 1933.
