    Gus Blant Bruner (December 25, 1897* - December 14, 1957) was born in Meade County, Kentucky to John Bruner and Lillie Mae Shacklette. Bruner practiced law in Harlan for many years. He also served terms as Harlan city attorney. He married Mary J. Gibson in 1922.

    *Some records list 1898 as the birth year.
