2021 Black History Month Virtual Exhibit

Black History Month 2021: The virtual exhibit was a daily presentation at the Notable Kentucky African Americans (NKAA) Facebook site from February 1-28, 2021. Some of the entries were further shared by individuals and organizations. The entire exhibit was a celebration of African American contributions to and from Kentucky, with a few non-Kentucky entries added for the sake of neighborliness. We expanded on the theme “Black Family” to embrace the names of those who traveled far from home and didn’t make it back. A creative touch, given that February is such a short month, is the bonus entry for the day February 28B.

The 2021 Black History Month Virtual Exhibit was a team effort. THANK YOU to the UK Special Collections Research Center crew: Colleen Barrett, Jay-Marie Bravent, Ruth Bryan, Kopana Terry, and Reinette Jones.
