The Dala’il al-Khayrat, translated as “The Waymarks of Benefits and the Brilliant Burst of Sunshine” or “The Guide of Goodness in Praising the Prophet,” is a manual of blessings on the Prophet Muhammad (Allah bless him and give him peace) penned by Abu Abdillah Muhammad Ibn Sulaiman Al-Jazool (d. 1465 AD). The original author, also known as Imam Al-Jazuli, was a 15th century Moroccan member and Sufi leader of the Berber tribe of the Jazulah. The Dala’il al-Khayrat is a devotional prayer book divided into seven sections. It was the first major work in Islamic history to compile peace litanies, prayers, epithets, and blessings upon the Prophet (Allah bless him and give him peace). The featured images are depictions of Mecca and Medina.
The 17 cm manuscript is bound in brown leather with gilt embossed medallions adorning its cover.
