Lester Marion Oliver (May 9, 1909 - September 16, 1990) was born in Rockcastle County, Kentucky to Joseph Oliver and Rena Jones. Oliver graduated from Eastern College with a B.A. in business in 1932. He practiced law in Berea, Kentucky after receiving his LL.B. from the University of Kentucky. Oliver served as a judge for Berea's Police Court. In addition to his law practice, he owned an insurance agency and operated a farm. Oliver was a noted breeder of hackney ponies. He married Mildred Young in 1932. Their son, Roger Marion Oliver (UK Law '63), also graduated from the College of Law. Roger Oliver practiced law with his father in the firm of Oliver & Oliver.
