Dan Taylor Martin (June 4, 1907 - April 26, 1993) was born in Knott County, Kentucky to Alex Martin and Dora Belle Taylor. Martin was educated at the Caney Creek Community Center and Caney Junior College before attending the University of Kentucky. He practiced law in Knott County and served as County Attorney for three terms. Martin also served as an Assistant Commonwealth's Attorney. He married Hassie Hicks.
