William Russell Jones (August 7, 1912 - November 26, 1963) was born in Memphis, Tennessee to William Jones and Cora Russell. Jones practiced law in Somerset, Kentucky where he served as Pulaski County Attorney for two terms. He served as Commonwealth's Attorney for the 28th Judicial District for four terms and was re-elected to a fifth term shortly before his death. Jones was the campaign manager for John Sherman Cooper's 1946 and 1948 Senate campaigns. He married Elizabeth Jane Kemper in 1936.
