Walter Dudley Vest (March 6, 1908 - November 27, 1967) was born in Walton, Kentucky to John Lewis Vest and Edna May Loomis. Vest received a Bachelor's of Science in Commerce from the University of Kentucky in 1930 before receiving his LL.B. in 1932. Vest practiced law in Walton with his father. He served as director of two banks in Walton, the Bank of Independence and the Dixie State Bank. He married Rebecca Cox on February 29, 1948.
