John Callaham Bagwell (August 31, 1903 - April 1, 1987) was born in Princeton, South Carolina to John Lewis Bagwell and Nannie Callaham. He received a Bachelor's degree in agricultural education from Clemson University in 1925. Bagwell served as an attorney for the United States Department of Agriculture. He married Vera Lumley on December 8, 1936.
