Description

Jesse Kitchen Lewis, LL.B.

Jesse Kitchen Lewis (April 15, 1900 - August 6, 1962) was born in Grayson, Kentucky to Robert Franklin Lewis and Coney Kitchen. Lewis practiced law in Carter County and other surrounding counties. He served as an assistant state attorney general and as a member of Kentucky's Public Service Commission. Lewis was heavily involved in efforts to reduce vice and organized crime in Covington and Newport from the 1940s to 1960s. Lewis married Emily Elizabeth Fortune in 1933.
