Atlee Joseph Asher (April 3, 1906 - December 12, 1987) was born in London, Kentucky to Silas Woodson Asher and Margaret Tuttle. Asher practiced law in Harlan, Letcher, and Marshall counties. He also served as a judge in Marshall County. Asher began teaching at Campbellsville College in 1967. He also served as general counsel and the director of development for the college. He retired to Florida in 1982. Asher married Varina Davis Dobyns in 1932.
