William Watts Blanton, Sr. (August 30, 1904 - June 15, 1966) was born in Richmond, Kentucky to Harry Martin Blanton and Ethel Watts. Blanton practiced law in Paris, Kentucky. He served as Paris city attorney between 1928-1930 and as the Paris police judge between 1930-1940. Blanton served as both a senator and a representative in the Kentucky General Assembly. He was married twice--his wives were Alice Rogers Clay (m. 1930, w. 1943) and Elizabeth Roseberry.
