    Lovel Hampton Liles (January 14, 1896 - October 24, 1971) was born in Lewis County, Kentucky to James Jackson Liles and Anora Murphy. Liles taught in a public grade school for seven years before attending the University of Kentucky. He practiced law in Greenup and Lewis counties in the firm of Coldiron, Harris, and Liles. Liles served multiple terms as Commonwealth's Attorney for the judicial district comprised of those two counties. He married Floris Whittinghill in 1930.
