Joseph Hobson (February 19, 1897 - July 13, 1982) was born in Elizabethtown, Kentucky to John Hobson and Mary Ella Nourse. Hobson graduated from Washington and Lee University in 1921. He practiced law in Prestonsburg, Kentucky after receiving his LL.B. and served several terms as the city attorney. Hobson married Inez Cottrell.
