Mack Jay Morgan (February 3, 1889 - December 6, 1979) was born in Mount Vernon, Kentucky to Green Morgan and Cordelia Sams. Morgan first attended Berea College. He taught agriculture courses there briefly after graduation. Morgan then served in the Kentucky General Assembly between 1920-1922 representing Garrard County. After receiving his LL.B. in 1924, Morgan operated the Morgan Insurance Agency. He married Malinda Lucille McDonald in 1920.
