Marshall Barnes (March 2, 1897 - December 15, 1985) was born in Beaver Dam, Kentucky to John Hiram Barnes and Margaret Eblen. Barnes briefly practiced law in Beaver Dam. He served as a representative in the Kentucky General Assembly from 1932 to 1936. He then served as clerk for the House of the Representatives from 1936 to 1938. In 1940, Barnes became the president of the Beaver Dam Deposit Bank. He served in this capacity until his retirement in 1981. Barnes married Anna Burke in 1929.
