Robert Milton Coleman, Jr. (September 23, 1899 - April 21, 1982) was born in Bowling Green, Kentucky to Robert Milton Coleman, Sr. and Anna Lois Wooten. Coleman attended Ogden College before attending the University of Kentucky. He began practicing law in Bowling Green after receiving his LL.B. in 1924. Coleman became a pivotal member of the Mammoth Cave National Park Committee which worked to make Mammoth Cave a National Park. Coleman served multiple terms as Master Commissioner for the Warren Circuit Court. He was sworn in as a circuit judge in the Eighth Judicial District in 1938. He served in this capacity until 1948 when he was appointed chairman of the Kentucky Public Service Commission. Coleman was re-elected as a circuit judge in 1964. He married twice--his wives were Mary Marshall McMeekin (m.1925-1959) and Mary Cooke (m. 1960).
