Clarence Leland Wood, Jr. (February 17, 1899 - January 25, 1983) was born in Mason County, Kentucky to Clarence Leland Wood, Sr. and Eleanor Duncan. Wood attended Michigan State University between 1917 and 1918 before transferring to the University of Kentucky. Wood worked in several industries after receiving his LL.B., including stock trading, real estate, and insurance sales. He lived in Los Angeles, California for many years before returning to Kentucky. Wood married Dorothy Shacker.
