Speaker's Bio

Rep. James Kay serves the 56th District in the Kentucky House of Representatives which includes all of Woodford County and parts of Franklin and Fayette counties. James and his wife Cara are raising their two sons in Versailles. James Kay is a practicing attorney, running his own law firm in Frankfort, KY. James received his Bachelor of Arts from the University of Kentucky and his law degree from the University of Kentucky College of Law.

Rep. Kay was first elected to the General Assembly in 2013. Rep. Kay has served as Vice Chair of the House Agriculture Committee and Chair of the Horse Farming Sub-Committee. He also serves as a voting member of the Agriculture, Transportation and Economic Development Committees. Rep. Kay has filed to run for Woodford County Judge Executive at the completion of his term this year.
