Abstract
The goal in conducting this study was to explore the effects of trauma across generations, if any were to be confirmed. This study, specifically, aimed to investigate whether parents reported having dealt with trauma and if their trauma had any impact on the way they parent their children. Research has shown that parents who have endured trauma take on different parenting styles and techniques than those who have not endured trauma. This study highlights the effects of trauma on those who encounter it as well as how it may transcend through generations through a survey. A key outcome of this study was that more parents have been confirmed to have had trauma before the age of 18 than those who have not.
