The Rocky Mountains are a massive mountain range that stretches as far as Canada’s British Columbia in the north to the state of New Mexico in the south. The Rocky Mountain National Park is located in Colorado and includes 415 square miles, crests as high as 12,000 feet, and over 300 miles of hiking trails. This impressive mountain range is also home to Glacier National Park (Montana), Yellowstone National Park (Idaho, Montana, Wyoming), and Grand Teton National Park (Wyoming).
In this gallery, Rocky Mountains, we represent one of these national parks with digitized maps made available in the University of Kentucky Libraries’ collection. Before browsing the maps, take a look at Charley Harper’s commissioned work, The Rocky Mountains, to see the variety of wildlife and landscape represented in this part of the United States.
