Orthopaedic Surgery and Sports Medicine

The University of Kentucky Department of Orthopaedic Surgery and Sports Medicine is actively engaged in a wide range of research activities including basic science and biomechanical investigations, patient outcome registries, and industry sponsored and investigator initiated clinical trials. In addition to the College of Medicine, the Department has ongoing research collaborations with the UK Colleges of Engineering, Health Sciences, and Public Health; the UK Center for Clinical and Translational Science(CCTS); the Markey Cancer Center; the Department of Athletics; Kentucky Injury Prevention and Research Center (KIPRC); Fayette County Public Schools; Shriner’s Hospital for Children – Lexington; the Multicenter Orthopaedic Outcomes Network (MOON); and other medical centers throughout the world.
