About Us

The journal aims to advance scholarship on Kentucky’s archaeological record while increasing awareness of ongoing research across the state. We serve both professional archaeologists and engaged public audiences by making current research accessible, rigorous, and relevant.

We welcome scholarship on all time periods and methodological approaches within archaeology, including excavation, survey, artifact analysis, laboratory research, manuscript studies, and interdisciplinary collaborations. Research focused on adjacent regions is also considered when directly relevant to Kentucky archaeology.

This publication continues the work of the original Journal of Kentucky Archaeology (discontinued in 2013).
