Abstract
Soil maps, and particularly engineering soil maps, are proving to be desirable in the planning and design stage of many types of structures and land developments. Problems associated with foundations, drainage and soil behavior may be recognized at a very early stage during the preliminary location and site selection through the use of adequate soil maps.
