    Harrison Connolly Bowles (December 30, 1899 - June 29, 1945) was born in Pikeville, Kentucky to C. C. Bowles and Nona Connolly. Bowles practiced law in Pikeville after graduation. In 1930, he became part-owner of The Pike County News. Bowles was also the part owner of the Bowles and Warden Drilling Contracting Company. Additionally, he served as president of the Pike County Collieries Company. Bowles married Ima Ernestine Gallion in 1923.
