John Howard King (November 27, 1896 - January 24, 1986) was born in Auburn, Kentucky to Hugh Gaston King and Emma Matthias. King practiced law in Lexington after receiving his LL.B.. In addition to his legal practice, King was a businessman who was involved in several Lexington companies and properties. He also owned a horse farm. King married Christine Gearhart in 1924.
