John William Swope*, LL.B.
John William Swope, Jr. (December 3, 1894 or 1895 - January 26, 1975) was born in Garrard County, Kentucky to John William Swope and Mary Lillian Gulley. Swope first studied law at Toulouse University in Toulouse, France after serving in World War I. He attended the University of Kentucky after returning to the United States. Swope practiced law in Lancaster and Lexington after graduation. He served one term as a Senator for the 18th district in the Kentucky General Assembly between 1961 and 1964.
*Mr. Swope is not listed in the 1922 edition of The Kentuckian.
