Herbert Horton Greene (January 4, 1898 - July 24, 1950) was born in Bruin, Kentucky to John Robert Green and Olive Belle Porter. He first practiced law in Elliott County. He also practiced in Ashland and Sandy Hook, Kentucky. Greene began working for the United States Veterans Administration in the 1920s. This career took him to South Dakota for many years. He later moved to Falls Church, Virginia after being promoted to Senior Legal Consultant of the VA Board of Appeals. Green married Marie Catherine McCarville in 1940.
