Bert Thomas Rountree*, LL.B.
Bert Thomas Rountree, Sr. (February 7, 1888 - January 8, 1946) was born in Brownsville, Kentucky to Henry Thomas Rountree and Nancy Stephens. Rountree first graduated from the Western Kentucky State Normal School at Bowling Green, Kentucky in 1912. In 1913, Rountree was elected to the Kentucky General Assembly and served as the representative for Edmonson and Butler Counties. He received his LL.B. from the University of Kentucky in 1915 and began practicing law in Brownsville and Bowling Green. He served as Edmonson County attorney between 1918-1922. In 1934, Rountree was appointed Commonwealth's Attorney in Warren County. He served in that capacity until 1940. Rountree married Virginia Ditto in 1915.
