Prescription drug costs in the United States exceeded $370 billion in 2014. And each year, thousands of patients die of adverse effects from medication. That's what makes the Institute for Pharmaceutical Outcomes and Policy's (IPOP) efforts to improve health-related medication outcomes of individuals and populations in Kentucky and across the nation. IPOP researchers are national leaders in translating science into policy and outcomes through research, consultation, training, and community outreach targeting safe, efficient, and effective use of medications.
