Description

There are many sorts of discharge around the marine industry in Hokkaido. An attempt was carried out to process one of the discharges, to be called Froth or Scum, some of which contains ether-extract (Lipid) at concentration more than 60%, moreover to evaluate the manurial value of raw material by oat in comparison with it fermented aerobically. Even the Froth having more than 60% of Lipid could be processed on mixing fermented material in proportion to 10%, which resulted in making it 30% below. Variability of moisture content, pH value and nutrient composition, Lipid content on DM of pre to post-fermented were as follow: T-N; 2.77-1.72%, T-P205; 2.44-2.22%, T-K20; 0.76-0.65%, moisture content; 68.7-17.9%, Lipid; 62.7-27.5% pH value; 4.86-6.79. Fatty acids of Lipid were fractiond with gaschromatograph so that it was almost independent of processing, whereas the composition of the substances extracted by 2 Vol. chloroform and 1 Vol. methanol (CM extract) were slightly changed. Both Froths were applied at the rate of 0, 10, 20, 30 Kg/a in pots with the plot of control and three elements, which were fortilized by the standard application in central Hokkaido. The oat applied the Froth processed made normal growth, besides the yields responded relatively as the proportion of it increased, conversely the plots raw Froth showed deterioration to a large extent with much more application.
