Description
Farmers with forage and livestock problems were organized into grassland societies and cooperated with extension staff supplied by anitoba Agriculture. The purpose of the grassland societies is to improve by demonstration the traditional management practices used by livestock producers for pastures and forage production for beef and dairy herds. Results over 5 years were clearly positive. Significant improvements were noted in both field and animal husbandry practices. The experience confirmed the principles of the diffusion-adoption process and its application to adult extension education.
