Abstract
From the Mango of My Eye tries its hand at the visual structure of newspapers, looking at the obsolescence of action in relation to memory while spreading headlines that are urgent, intriguing, uniting and immediately forgotten. Poems from this collection focus on themes of Hispanic boyhood, music, witnessing, parentification, identity, protest, tradition, memory, heritage, and the coming of age.
