Abstract
Gorgeous Gorgeous Girls is a feminist collection. These are short stories that circumnavigate the peculiarities of Nigerian women. Each story takes a specific lens into the lives of the average Nigerian women, their daily survivals, their daily struggles—how these women examine life and existence. Through these variegated means, the stories ponder how societal ideologies, societal demands affect these women, especially the average Nigerian woman living beyond the poverty threshold. Each character wrestles, questions what it means, what it takes to survive struggles. They interrogate sexuality, mental health, immigration, capitalism, what it means to be a full human, people capable of thinking, of existing, people surviving in spaces determined to take everything from them, including their sanities, especially their sanities.
